THE FOUR STATES OF ESSENCE
A conceptual collection for perfumers
Four bases
Four states of aromatic matter
A sensory journey from matter to air
Lignum – The Body
Lignum is the first form.
The first state of the essence: dense, dry and textural. It rises from deep within the earth, where cedar takes root, vetiver twists in the shade and patchouli matures slowly. It is a perfume base with structure. It does not speak of nostalgia, but of foundation. Of natural architecture. Red thyme, clove and mint do not sweeten or soften it: they sculpt it. Lignum does not float. It has weight. And in that weight, it finds its power. The forest not as landscape, but as substance.
Solvia – The Light
Solvia is the second form.
It is the moment when matter opens, brightens and turns towards the day. It is the chapter of the flower that does not wait: it projects. From crisp bergamot to solar ylang-ylang, this base shines without shouting. Clementine mandarin and palmarosa create a clear, firm olfactory brightness, while geranium and sandalwood bring natural balance.
Sacra – The Soul
Sacra is the threshold.
The rite. The essence that cannot be touched, but transforms. It begins with a white radiance: bitter orange and neroli. Then incense enters, not as smoke, but as a sacred gesture. Paraguayan petitgrain brings a green tension, almost liturgical. Ylang-ylang closes with a floral caress that does not caress: it consecrates. Sacra does not seek grandeur. It seeks to move. It is perfume as a secular prayer. The soul made vapour.
Alvora – The Air
Alvora is what remains.
What is unseen, yet defines. A dry cut, a breath that outlines a space. Super lavandin, lemon, Salvia officinalis, camphoraceous rosemary, cinnamon leaf and cistus create an architecture of warm, profiled air. Alvora does not decorate or surround: it cuts. It marks. It directs. Air as structure. Freshness as message. The lightest state, but also the sharpest. Alvora is not a background. It is the final trace.
